That front suspension looks rather modern, is this a recreation?

No, although this was one of the later cars built for this class.

BJR 500 built by Brian J Rowsellin in 1956 to race in Formula 3. It was powered by a JAP single cylinder 500cc engine and featured a relatively sophisticated tubular chassis, wishbone and coil suspension at the front and a swing axle at the rear. Brian competed regularly in it from 1956 through to 1960.

Exactly. You definitely know where to look using the information available. Another point to you.

Please can I have the make and engine of this rare 500?

It's not unlike Brian Rowsell's JAP-engined BJR 500 of the late 1950s.
The more I consider the nature of speed, the more mysterious I find it.

Because that is exactly what it is!  Well done   :applause:

Whoops!
I did do a search for it before posting, but I must have used the wrong parameters.  My apologies

These things happen. It wasn't the dreaded hyphen this time.

Thanks Duncan! Purely luck, I was looking for something entirely different and came across this photo from 1959.
