I have some info on this. I know its mechanical donor. I know the name of the guy who raced it (probably he was the builder too but I can't be sure of that). And I know a year. So you can get 1 point if you ID donor and owner/racer and you can get a 2nd point if you tell me more about its back story - with proof of course

sometimes - in the pre-war era. In fact he brought the puzzle car to a race, but instead he raced a BMW special there :)! In the post-war era he raced with other sports cars

This looks like what I wanted to post as a new puzzle.
According to a photo I made just the last weekend in the nice and interesting Museum of Ober-Ramstadt,
this is a Röhr Junior race car built by (Kurt?) Delfosse.

The Gesellschaft für die Verwertung von Industrieanlagen bought the Röhr factory in November, 1935, following the Röhr bancruptcy. But the sale was annulled in May, 1936, by a Darmstadt court.
