Is there a 2CV chassis under this and is it special to the Middle East, perhaps Iran or Iraq?

No and no, but there is a slight 2CV connection.

It's a Mikasa Mark I, 600cc air-cooled microcar from Japan, and hugely influenced by the 2cv but not sharing any parts

Ha Ha Ha...  No Clutch OK Drive , as printed on the reverse of the Mikasa leaflet. Fantastic!

I just love these 'International English' translations in old car brochures that actually make little or not sense at all in English!

I have a late 1960s international English brochure on the Suzuki Fronte 360, for which one of the available colours is 'Abysmal Green', plus a great Motokov export leaflet for the Zastava 101 in which one of that model's benefits is listed as  "reassuringly unreliable'  At least they were honest!  ;D

Yuk, I'm feeling sick  :o.

I've got a great one like this at home for the Paradine 525 S.  I will scan it in and post it when I'm next there.

The correct name of the puzzle car should be Mikasa Service Car Mark I (MC-V).
