The front resembles the Biota?

Marketed commerically (but seemingly without much success, judging by the fact that it has been sat here for since 2011) :D

Thanks
- did the year of the registration (1968) reflect the year of the manufacturer or the original date of the car prior to alteration?

Djetset

The original date of the car prior to alteration.

Okay - was the manufacturer of this conversion active in the 1970s?

Is It a newer version of a broadspeed gt?

Djetset

No Broadspeed link (apart from the Mini base, naturally!).

Just one last question for the moment - did the company offer similar conversions on other makes?

Not to my knowledge.
Okay - time to dig into my magazine library but perhaps they never advertised in sources such as Motor Sport, Autosport, etc.
Probably Triple C, Kit Car, etc. that I don't have access to..... :(

Djetset

I did find this in a magazine Woodinsight, but I would hate for you to waste hours trying to find this as it is quite obscure.  As a clue, this Mini modification first appeared in 1971.

Okay thanks Djetset - rather I'll keep my eyes open when I'm searching my library for other reasons and who knows - I may strike lucky!

Carnut

Does it have any connection with Nottingham?

Djetset

Sorry, but no Nottingham connection.  Another clue; further north!

Djetset

No, Leeds is too far south (that's not a something you read very often!).

I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Djetset

Further south than Scotland.

Hot Car magazine?

It looks typical of the type of "custom" car they featured back then. :(

Djetset

Not from Newcastle, and I don't think it was featured in Hot Car magazine.  Remember this is not a one-off 'custom' car though, as it was commercially available.

Hmmmm, so where's north of Leeds but south of Newcastle?  Middlesbrough?
