Who built this to gain a point?
I don't think he built it to gain a point. I think it was a means of releasing inner strife and turmoil, bad karma and negativity....sorta like Primal Scream therapy.

nyuck nyuck ;D
Yup; 2CV-based.
Up to the Pros.
Is it really a sports car or a (kit) car made to look so?
It has been made to look like a competition car, but it has never raced.
The BH beckons soon...

Citroen RUO 197 - 1974 Citroen (Dyane) Single Seat Racing Car at Fleetwood Tram Sunday 2013 (Lancashire UK)
"It's a Dyane 1974 Dynane - left hand drive so the gear change is on the right, the engine is 600cc, the builder tells me they had 100 mph out of it on a test track. all I can say is that it does 70 mph easily on the motorway and is very stable at that speed. Cornering is slightly heroic, brake, drop a gear and give the steering wheel a yank it slides easily round a tight bend. the car is incredibly light, the back end is the nose cone of an aeroplane"
"the car won the runners up Mayors choice prize in Cat A"
Well done, you've found the car. Now, to gain the point, you just need to find out who built it. Locked to you for 48 hours.
The only name mentioned is Charlotte Wareing. If not I'll keep searching but let it opened
Sorry, but I don't have any connection with a Charlotte Wareing and this car.
the other name mentioned is Robert Wade??
Sorry, but not aware of any connection with Robert Wade here either!
Is the builder known for other cars?

Can the builder be found online ?
I suppose that depends on the time of day, and in which other activities he is involved. ;)

Revisiting this puzzle, I've found Fleetwood Festival of Transport 2013. The North West's Biggest Free Monthly Magazine
Sorry, but it's still not the Wareing car. I have both the name of the builder and the car, and neither are connected with Wareing.
Just to share what I've found with no further info
Thank you for the extra images Oguerrerob. The name of this machine is out there...

To clarify, the puzzle car and the Wareing car are one and the same. Charlotte Wareing purchased the car from the builder and entered it in the 2013 Fleetwood Festival of Transport. I have attached an image showing comments about the car and builder that were posted to another website by Ms. Wareing immediately following the Fleetwood event.
Of course, the names of the car and its builder are still required in order to solve the puzzle!
Still not found the name and the builder, but I've found that the puzzle picture is from the ICCCR 2012 at Harrogate, Yorkshire
The 2012 ICCR in Yorkshire is exactly where I spotted this car and took my Puzzle photo ;)
