I'm very sorry to hear about your health problems. I've been there, still have heart problems, so you have my sympathy and concern.
Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Argentinean?
-
Judging by the car's rear lights, I guess this is Mexican(?)
-
Mexico and South America = no
-
I think the car was customised in the USA and it started out as a Ferrari 246 GTB (Dino)
-
it started out as a Ferrari 246 GTB (Dino)
There was only a 246 GT, a 246 GTS or a 308 GTB...
-
Sorry 246 GT.
I am supposed to know about Ferraris as well. :'(
-
Sorry 246 GT.
I am supposed to know about Ferraris as well. :'(
There's plenty of scope for confusion with their old numbering system.
Who knows the difference between a 365 GTC, 365 GTS, 365P, 365 GTB/4, 365 GTC/4, 365 GTS/4, 365 GT 2+2, 365 GT4 2+2 and 365 GT4/BB, plus those I've missed?!
-
no Ferrari parts in this car
-
From USA?
-
yes
-
PISA Scorpion?
-
no
-
Is it AMC/Rambler based?
-
no
-
Is it AMC/Rambler based?
I thought you had it there.
Those tailights , quarter and back panel look to be 1970 AMC Hornet sourced.
Is it based on a Porsche 914?
-
Just to unscramble things a bit, is it built on a mid-engine V8 platform?
-
RayTheRat is in the right way, as it´s a mid-engined, but with an option of 4 or 6 cylinders.
-
Pontiac Fiero based?
-
Fiero = 914 = no
-
Renault Alpine based?
-
Custom chassis, or based on another car?
-
custom chassis
-
Do you know of this elusive mysterion? Please tell, for 1 point.
-
Next level of puzzlers.
-
is it from South America?
-
I dont think so. This is a car most likely headed for the black hole. This is going to be a very hard puzzle to solve.
-
The fuel filler cap suggests that this is RHD. The style of bungalow in the photo makes me think of either South Africa or Australia/New Zealand areas.
-
I glad that the surroundings & fuel filler door reminds you of places & vehicles. Well for me, the fuel filler door, looks like Plymouth Barracuda & the body looks a lot like Fiberfab Valkyrie. It is no matter, what we think, I am gonna need proof of what this is & who made it. So good luck.
-
To the professional puzzlers.
-
I think, it a VW-based?
-
My guess would be NAF Shrike GT by North American Fiberglass.
-
I think it is Porsche 914 based, with a copied & modified Fiberfab Valkyrie(used as a basis for a new styled 1 off kit car). I think it is mid-engined, by the layout. Might be similar approach to my own GT1XR concept design.

???
-
I am sorry Arunas, I dont think this puzzle car is a Pontiac Fiero based GT40 replica. To me...you look at the roofline, the high belt line & the curvature of the front body & the wheelbase. They pretty much match up with a Fiberfab Valkyrie, with alot of custom bdy work & styling changes. So, we wait & see what this car is & who built it. Also, or course, it is pure speculation that it is similar to my GT1XR design. My GT1XR is to be made with a riveted aluminum monocoque chassis(foam filled). With steel tube sub frames. It is to use Porsche 914 suspension & transaxle with a Chevrolet LS3 engine. The GT1XR body is very unique & very accurate as to how it will look.
-
ValkyrieGT, do You know an exact make and model of your puzzle car?
-
I do not Arunas. I look at the car & see striking similarities with a Fiberfab Valkyrie GT & also, striking differences in styling. I will say, the puzzle car has a much longer wheelbase than your proposed Fiero GT40 replica, Also, The puzzle car does not have a flush mounted rear window, it has a rear window that ends just behind the passenger compartment. Your proposed replica, has the flush mounted rear window & body styling of the MKII GT40. Your car is Fiero based with a much shorter wheelbase & the wheelwell tire clearance is much different, as are all of the styling lines & elements. Anyhow, I hope that someone finds the car on the internet & can tell us what this car is & who was behind it.
-
I will post picture of Shrike GT when im back home. Give me a reminder if something.
-
Ok, I look forward to a picture of a NAF Shrike GT. I went to your site & was able to see the NAF GT40 & I thought that was what you were referring to. I did not see a shrike GT photo.
-
Here are two pictures. Sorry for watermarks - I have no access to unmodified pictures now.
More info on the model will be posted soon.
-
Alright, way to go. Point for Arunas. Now, what can you tell us about the NAF Shrike GT?
-

Rare NAF Shrike, just found!...Amazing!
-
:D
-
Pantera = Furia = no
To BH
-
Found it! This is a Shrike GT, made in Arizona in the 1970s by N.A.F. (North American Fiberglass) with its tell-tale AMC Hornet rear lights, and a choice of powertrain options, including an Oldsmobile V8. N.A.F. also made kit replicas of the Cobra, GT40 and Lotus Seven S4.
-
Great job! And another one gone...
-
Errr... This car?!:

-
Yes, it seems to be, making this all the more astonishing that it had sat here under our noses in the BH for so long being without being notice, especially as a repost!
I've also had it on my tail light list for years and never thought to double-check until now.
I know Geraldo doesn't tune into AP very often so I guess this will remain here for a while before the points are awarded and it is merged with the other puzzle ???
-
I checked and he last logged-in on 10th March, so he does obviously keep in touch.
I'll merge them once he's given you your TWO points and moved it to Solved!

Thanks for the 'bump' reminder GTE as I've been patiently waiting for Jotage21/Geraldo to award me the two points and move this one at long last into Solved for some time now! :snooze:
-
If he doesn't do it withing the next week or two I can do it for you!
-
Thank you Carnut.

Points added and puzzle merged and moved.
