As far as I know, this is a 'homebuilt' conversion.  (Dito for the DKW.)

Spohn?

In the book from where I took this picture, it“s not mentioned the name of the coach. If you could prove that it“s Spohn, the point is yours.

I can't really add anything more except a front view (below).
It's not a coachbuilt car, but apparently one of those "Eigenbau" from the early 1950's, perhaps inspired by a BMW 319!
Who knows what powered it?  Probably no-one any more.  Maybe a BMW engine!

I love the pictures - but they tell you nothing!
Great book but no use for AutoPuzzlers!

It“s been re-edited and revised recently, but I“d stay with the old original edition.

Afaik the author is still living in the middle Rhine valley region - who“s gonna ask him?

I had a short look into the new book in a bookstore. They added some contemporary magazine articles on well-known automobiles, arranged the old photos (with the old text) in a new order, deleted some of the old photos and enlarged the pages (and photos). I prefer the old book.

Let me ask if you definetly IDd that car? Would be really interisting to know. So, how can you be sure that it's not a Lepoix design?

I think that you are right, maybe it could be an obscure Lepoix design
