What's this, who built it, when and based on what from when - for 1 point?:

The engine and chassis are of course proprietary; as for the body, the builder seems to have claimed he built it from scratch and that it was his own design, but I'm not sure whether that's true or not.  I've heard that one before when they've used an of-the-shelf kit.  Having said that, if it was a bought-in kit I have no idea what it might have been!

His name was actually known in motor racing circles at the time, but as far as I am aware it's not the same person, just someone who happened to have the same name!
