I love cars from odd locations around the globe. So here we have 16 cars from unexpected places - and a point is up for grabs for correctly identifying each of the places these cars were built in. In the case of islands, I need the correct island, rather than the country to which it belongs.
Only one guess per person per car, please, for now - and I won't be giving any clues (at least to start with)

Q889o is called TOTI Eco2 from Tabontabon in Leyte island, Philippines. Runs on biodiesel extracted from coconuts
Q889j is, I believe, an "amphibian jet car" built by one Durojaiye Kehinde Obasanjo from Nigeria, though the info I have found contains some inconsistencies
I've been able to find that Q889e is from Iran, but I don't yet know the name. Working on it
EDIT: Oh. Now I re-read your original post, maybe the actual name is not required for the point? ::) ::)
Up
I have found Q889p on the Anonymous cars thread (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=13608.0)... The cars on the background of that pic look US American, so maybe this creation is... Canadian?
Q889a is an MG TC special built in Canada by Duane Wright.

Q889m, 1998' Endurance Roadster from Japan, Emirates National Auto Museum.
Found another one today. Q889b is a one-off electric car made by Mr. Jesus Antony Santos from Colombia
Hey! Just found another one. Q889i is a "modified Mini believed [to be] inspired by the Neville Trickett Mini Sprint GTR race car, at Bulawayo [(Rhodesia, present day Zimbabwe)] - Possibly built by George Armstrong"
I think our old friend Quiller has fallen out of love with AutoPuzzles; he last logged in on 30th April...
Oh crap. I was counting on collecting a handful of points from this group puzzle! Is there a protocol for abandoned puzzles? (If that is indeed what this is now)

I think we can probably get him back to sort out his old puzzles.
I'll work on it!
Q889n is an Eco-car designed by engineering students of the National University of Singapore for the 2012 Shell Eco-Marathon.
The university's press release states:
"Weighing a mere 70kg compared to last year's 115kg version, the lightweight vehicle is equipped with non-pneumatic tyres. The airless tyres, which are low in maintenance and wholly recyclable, have been researched by universities and manufacturers such as Michelin and Bridgestone. The Eco-car can travel from Singapore to Bangkok without recharging with the fuel efficiency being 950km per litre of energy. It has a top speed of 65km per hour.
Describing this year's Eco-car, Assoc Prof Lu Wen Feng, Faculty Advisor to the project, said that the vehicle is based on a wholly green concept. The car, which is designed and built by the students from wheels to body, only emits water as a by-product of the hydrogen fuel the car uses."
I have found the source for image Q889p and according to it, it is a homemade car (or more accurately a sand rail, by the looks of it), built in the United Arab Emirates using the engine and other parts of a Nissan Maxima V6
Q889c is from Cuba. Probably built on a Piaggio Ape or something similar.
Q889k looks like something from SE Asia. Philippines maybe? They have an awful lot of self-made cars there.
I have seen that Quiller has been active recently in some other threads.
Hi Quiller! Any chance of resurrecting this one?
Q889i is the Armstrong MiniSprint built and raced in Zimbabwe by George Armstrong in 1964.
With sincere apologies for my absence over the last few months, I'm back!

Thanks Quiller. Can I ask for a little clue? Since you requested in the original post that we specify the island... Does any of the five cars that have not yet been found come from a British, French or Dutch colony?

No, not any current colony of UK, F or NL
I like to ask that this puzzle is moved to the Pros, to see if they can finish it off... I've spent far too much idle time trying to find anything remotely resembling the as yet unsolved pictures but have had no luck, and I'm really curious to find out the answers.

Quiller hasn't logged on since 26th April this year, so don't hold your breath waiting for an answer.
I think he's a bit busy with his new job but perhaps Dejetset or I can given him a little nudge to get him to respond!
I'm not in a hurry so I don't mind.
