A nice sportscar.
For one point, please respond and identify this car.
-
up
-
French or Belgian?
-
No
-
Looks like a somewhat unfortunately-bodied Ferrari.
-
Not Ferrari-based
-
Well, thank goodness for that, at least. :yuck:
-
Dutch?
-
Ja
-
Fiat 124?
-
Seems to be Beetle-based in my opinion
-
Not Fiat 124 based, and not Beetle-based, but the last guess is closer.
-
Re-bodied Porsche 911?
-
No
-
The door looks as if it's part of what used to be a Lotus Europa, so, Lotus Europa base?
-
No
-
VW Type 3 based ?
-
Yes
-
up again
-
I assume it's home-built around 1970 ?
-
It is homebuilt. I have to look up the date tonight (if my source tells one at all).
-
Built in the first half of the 70s.
-
Down the hole
-
Coming very late to the party, is there any info available on this car online?
-
Not any more, I fear.
-
Stumbled across this thing today and thought it looked familiar.
Description: '1966 Volkswagen Overdevest' built in the Netherlands for the Pon family (Dutch VW importers) on a VW Typ 3 chassis
-
After more than five years! Yes, it is a coupe built by G. Overdevest in 1973 on a 1966 Volkswagen Typ 3 chassis. The Pon family connection is new to me, well done!
-
Thanks for the points!
-
this was a very nice find
-
Checked the plate, originally it was grey and first issued in 1966. Apparently it has been exported in 1968.
-
Yes, I think it would have been an early Type 3, because it clearly has swing-axle rear suspension. Later models had a different, more sanitary layout. :)
