Good day,

I have researched this interesting and famous car La Nef, which could not have been built in 1898. At that time (in 2022) I have only studied books and magazines including 1902 and have not found any mention of it.

Yesterday I tried to find information about it after 1902 in old books and magazines on Gallica, in Google books, Open archive. There is information in various encyclopedias and reference books of that time about Lacroix & DeLaville, manufacturers of the three-wheeled La Nef in Agen and that's it! The earliest is in the Annual Baudry de Saunier 1907. But I have not found a description, photo of the car, advertisement, or mention at a car show anywhere. There are many experts here who know how to search well and have large collections. Does anyone have such information?

Maybe contact the Museum in Bäretswil in Switzerland?
They own another surviving "La Nef" vehicle.

Thanks for your answer. I did not know about this copy.

My experience shows that museum employees cannot say anything about this. Some expert many years ago determined that this is 1889, it means it is.

Here we also see the "replacement" of the motor to a later one.

Here is the one from the Louwman collection in Den Haag:
