Title: Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 convertible (1948) by Vignale?
Post by: als15 on February 27, 2015, 04:37:27 PM
You know, Alfas are not my best field of expertise... Can you help me, please, to identify the car on the right? Picture taken at the 1948 Turin Motor Show, if it can help.

I've never seen this one... obviously it should be a 2500, and looking at the cars on the side maybe by Ghia...

Not in Ghia's Catalogue Raisonee...I checked Bertone too and it's not there either.

The 2 cars in the middle are by Vignale (Fiat 1100 & Lancia Aprilia). But I don't believe that the fourth is also Vignale (no reference of any Vignale Ala 6C) whilst the first should be Fiat 1100 by Francis Lombardi. So a mixed display.
I tought it would have been easy... But if you don-t know either, it justifies why I spend a whole evening without results...

Ooopss... Lancia and Fiat are not by Ghia...  :-[
I've never seen that Alfa... it reminds me of similar cabriolets by Pinin Farina... but also the Ghia Supergioiello cars... I guess it could be a Ghia or a P.F.... but I really don't know... I'll try to check some books...

Why not? Vignale Stand, it can be a 6C 2500 by them in my opinion.

Actually, looking at the flower boxes on the floor, the 3 cars look together. It would be a great discover. I'll dig it more.

After further researches... the Alfa 2500 is not in the Anselmi 2500 book nor in the Fucina 2300-2500 book...
Another possible guess is Boneschi...
If it's Vignale stand it's great!

The book "Vignale con Michelotti designer" doesn't help...

Could the Alfa be a Castagna design ? There are similarities with other cars bodied by them.

Hello,

I try to send an answer and a picture of the car but what I see is:: You already submitted this post! You might have accidentally double clicked or tried to refresh the page

The right answer is Alfa Romeo 2500 Vignale. The picture was made at the salon in Torino 1948

Try to re-login to AutoPuzzles. Also add some number of something at the end of the file.
Also, what type of file is that? Is it jpg?

Thanks. I basically agree with you, but the source you are quoting - Fornai's book - is normally all but reliable: not enough to be considered a confirmation. The evidence is that the car is in Vignale's booth, but unfortunately there are no real evidence that he made the body, as it doesn't appear anywhere else. Another period captioned picture would confirm, if any xsists.
