I have an idea of what it is, but no definite information!
One point up for grabs if you can tell me what it is!

This is probably a long shot, but the grill looks like a huge Bugatti-grill ; is it a Bugatti?

German one-off from the 1930's
I reckon that's a good start.

In fact I don't know. But you may have found it at some Ganz related source.

Most appreciated! :)
It's a neat looking car - I'd like to know more about it.

Me too! ;D
The number plate belongs to the Starkenburg province in Hesse and was issued until 1937. Are there any connections to Opel (as Rüsselsheim is located in the same province)?

I've got no clue.
I found a Josef Ganz page on Facebook with the same picture. It seems that the picture was made in front of the head office of Ganz's magazine Motor-Kritik in Frankfurt a.M. I believe that the car was made by one of the designers - sadly unknown - that had close connections with Ganz. Maybe this is all we can find about this car.

That was my source with hope of more info. Alas it remained an unknown creation so far.
Another view:
It looks like a very sensible and well engineered car.
Some more fact must be found... :-\
Time to unearth a complete collection of "Motor-Kritik" ::)

Thank you!
I wonder if Hansa,is somehow connected?
Is it DKW -based?
Noone knows but it's possible.
any connection with Wanderer-23?
You can ask me anything, but if you read the earlier posts you should see that we still know nothing about it!
Sorry! just an honest mistake,
design by Paul Jaray
no proof, I forgot to put a '?' behind
to the hole.
I just read that it is a private Eigenbau, built in 1933 on an Opel 1,2 Liter chassis by a man from Rüsselsheim. His goal was to build an aerodynamic body, and it proved to go up to 18 % faster.
Cool - I want to know what it is, finally...
I don't have very good news. Motor Kritik did not say who built the body. I looked in subsequent issues and it is not noted either.
This looks like a factory picture to me. Maybe someone within the Opel archives know the answer! Pic is from 1934

I have found only the same informations about this car as you, pnegyesi. Maybe 'SACO' (SAC#1819) knows more about this mystery
I contacted the historical department of Opel, they will get back to me in a few days
Great
