Hi,

Any ideas on the make of the attached car. Photo received from Eastern Europe but location unknown. Has a semblance to a German Ford Taunus but the central aperture too high up in the bonnet. As seems to have no visible radiatior could be rear engined. Bit big for a Bubble car. Too small to be a Tucker!

Wow. I'm surprised this group hasn't nailed that one yet.   :o

Its possible that excrescence on the hood is NOT for a headlight but rather is the air intake for cooling the flux capacitor!   :lmao:

Hi,

Most surprised that nobody has come up with anything. Have subsequently received more photos. I have "photo repaired" the roof to give an idea of what it might have looked like. Surely somebody must have an idea. The car looks too good to be "home made".

PS  Is there perhaps another location / forum where I might get some help??

Looks like it might be a TATRA of some sort.
The picture shows it was rear engined and TATRA was both rear engined and tri-lighted

Hi!

Unfortnately, I'm looking at it one more time and still have no certain idea about its origins. I feel like it is not Soviet, but nevertheless it looks like a car from an ex-socialist camp - maybe something like Poland, GDR or Bulgaria. But I'd like to point out that it's just a general feeling, backed by nothing but the overall looks of the car.

not quite the same...

Not a Tatra for sure. Tatra never adopted the three-box body shape.

I suppose the central opening is not for a third light, rather it's where a big logo was mounted.

The rear looks similar to a P70 (Sachsenring), though the front is completely different.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.
