I do not know what this is, so I place it here instantly.

The file name tells you all the fact I have.

Can you identify this one and proof your guess?

Those wooden artillery wheels suggest it's an older car that's been rebodied. Is it something like a Mercer?

I agree with your idea that this is an older rebodied car.

But in Austria it would more probably be a Mercedes than a Mercer. :D

Right, but the photo was most probably made in Austria and published by an austrian magazine.

Door and fender lines share a lot with a BMW 328, but not so much the hood and radiator. I can't post a reference image at the moment but will later.

A 328 is significantly smaller, but I can see what you mean.
