Hello,

I've bought this picture on ebay a few months ago. I know that this picture was taken in Italy, probably in the 20's, but I don't know the type of car it represents.

Could you please help me to identify it ?
Thanks in advance

Aymeric

Sorry, no idea (and hardly any books about Italian cars  :( )

The shape of the radiator is very Fiat-like, so let's try to see if the car fits a specific Fiat model...
In the book "Catalogo Bolaffi delle Fiat" (Angelo Tito Anselmi, 1970) there is only a car with that disc wheels, and it's a Tipo 2B  (on page 177, if you have it) which, in the standard torpedo version, looks indeed similar to the car in the photo.
That radiator shape was introduced around 1914. Similar models were the Tipo 3 Ter and Tipo 70. But the huge amount of different bodies available at that time makes the precise identification really uneasy.

I've checked also the book "Automobili Fiat" (again by Anselmi) were there are two pictures of the standard Fiat Tipo 2B Torpedo and I think this is our car. This version was introduced in 1916 but put in production after the war, in 1918.

May I comment on the Iluvatar photograph and the machine on the right of the F.I.A.T. which in my opinion was a military machine which was produced as a joint effort by both Ansaldo and F.I.A.T.
