Folks,
In order to promote activity throughout the forum as well as to capitalize on the natural interests of our members we've chosen to seek out and give Host responsibilities to certain members.
Gentlemen, please, welcome Allan L as the Host of the Vintage section of the board. Allan's pre-war car knowledge is extensive and we're looking forward to seeing what he has to show us about cars from that era.
Thx, Allan, for taking this on. We all look forward to seeing what you are gonna post for us.
Awesome! :)
Thank you for the kind words, which I'll try to live up to.
It was only last Monday that I happened to restore the photos in the post I made in the "Your Cars" thread in November 2009 - I didn't include many of the 20-odd cars I've owned as they were of no great interest (even to me in some cases), but perhaps I'll add a few sometime.
You'd be surprised what people find interesting. Lots of cars that are boring to you are really cool imports to a guy on the other side of the world.
That said, just tell us about an old car or two. Anything you know something about. Ask us what car we'd drive in 1925. Tell us about some obscure old car maker who made something cool. It doesn't matter. Whatever interests you.
Thank you so very much!!!!
I don't seem to have done much, but when I look at what's been posted in this section in the past, the late and much-missed RayTheRat's name appears quite often.
Since he cannot now be a member, it says "Guest" below his name which I find rather sad.
I was going to suggest re-naming the Vintage section after him, but I think that just finding a way of replacing that "Guest" with something a bit appreciative of his participation here would be good.
Wouldn't it?
I agree - a wonderful idea.
You are definetly right...
Absolutely, you are.
He's much missed indeed.
There is no way to change the "guest" under his name.
Perhaps a well written eulogy that I could sticky at the top of the section would be nice.
