A heap of clay.

For one point, please respond and identify the make and the year, when this design saw the light of day.

Um...we don't have the rights to that!   ;D

DeAutogids

That's actually an "Americanized" Golf, called Rabbit.

I know, Iknow  ;)
But in Europe the GTI still looked a little better.

Yeah, I know...just having a little fun with Wendax.

Wendax

And don't forget: in those days the Europeans built beautiful cars with an elegant flowing design, able to please the eye like nothing else on earth could do.  :D :D :D

DeAutogids

Just post a picture of a Volvo from the era ;)

Wendax

After having discussed the design qualities of this mock-up, can an expert tell what this was supposed to be?

Wendax

Yes, Checker it is. Locked for you to find the year.

Well done, that's right. Another point for you, congratulations.

I think the prototype was named Gaslva II. But I couldn't find any proof besides the picture title, so I didn't ask for it. Does anyone know more about it?

Otto Puzzell

I think it's Galava II, built on a stretched GM X-car platform.
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

DeAutogids

It looks Dodge Aries-like (says he who owns a Hot Wheels downscaled version of that car)

It's Galva II, according to the Encyclopedia of American Cars. The blocky body was intended to be simple to build and repair.

;D What a fun name! "Galva" means "head" in Lithuanian :hah:

A Checkerhead :lmao:

Please excuse the poor-quality photo, but what is this for a point? (make, year and any additional information please).
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Sorry, but no Chrysler connection.  Wendex kindly pointed out to me that this is actually a repost, so please can it be merged with below.  Thanks.
