Waiting for the start.

For one point, please respond and identify the car in the front, the year it was built and the engine it used.
For an extra point, please identify the car in the back to the left (#152) and prove it as I don't know.

The main subject looks BMW-derived, is it an EMW from about 1949?

And iIs the one behind Petermax Muller's Pertrix-VW? (I can't confirm it - it resembles the car in several photos in the Von Hanstein biography.)

Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Wendax

You seem to be right about the Pertrix-VW. I have the Hanstein biography myself and it looks like it is the same car. Seems I should have looked in that book!

One point for you.

The main puzzle car isn't an EMW though.

Next guess - Neumaier Spezial - BMW

It can't simply be VW-Eigenbau so is it a Glöckler?
Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Wendax

Not just an Eigenbau, it is named after its constructor / driver. It is not a Glöckler.

#148 is Kranke-BMW by Hans-Joachim Kranke built, AFAIK, for Siegfried Seifert in 1955. Seems like Seifert at the wheel.

Wendax

Yes, it is the fourth racecar of Hans-Joachim Kranke, driven by a BMW R75 motorcycle engine. Siegfried Seifert took over the car after Kranke quit racing. Well done, another point for our racing prof.
