Is this mammal belonging to the Carnivora order (canidae, felidae, mustelidae, ursidae, viverridae) ?
Not a Carnivora
Not a Taurus
Not a Colt.

One of these is another excellent guess in the right direction.

 :applause: :applause: Ariete:
The name of this car was never used before in that form.
A tranlated version of it was a famous european maker active till late 30s (but there the meaning was different): Ariès
and the model of an american manufacturer (big, universally known and still active): Dodge Aries
name of a mammal animal
There was another family of names were you can find it but also mytological creatures and was pretty much used in naming cars, makers or even pictured in the badges (zodiac signs)
in your previous guesses you named (or were close to) few of them: (scorpions, spiders...)
These days you can encounter them quite often (horoscopes)

I really tried my best  ;)
Ariete it is and I am going to award you a point but you know what?
I won't tell you the builder's name, because you need it for another puzzle...this:

They've been built by the same man  ;)

I've always thoroughly despised anything related to astrology so it's no wonder that all your hints never rang a bell in my mind  ;D

...and I keep forgetting that it's extraordinary easy when you know the answer!  ;D

At least there was Rosengart's Ariette (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=23344).  ;)

I thought about Dodge Ram, and Aries...but I've been very lucky!

Puzzle solved and point added.
I'll move it when the other will be solved as well ;)

Paul Jaray

Time to move now.
This is the 2nd car built by Piccolotto in 1957 and called Ariete.
