A variation on previous 'cars and tunes' puzzles. In this case, to earn points, you need to tell me which pictures go together in pairs, and why. Only answers that identify the correct pairing will earn points. So, don't just shout out the subject of one or more of the pictures.

Enjoy!

#1
#1 is the group Bachman Turner Overdrive and F is an overdrive unit.

#5 is a Norwegian band called The Carburettors and B is a pair of carburettors.

Two-for-two

Well done!

I suppose that one of these bands calls itself The Fins (to be matched with #D). I have no idea which one.
And that another calls itself The Phaetons (to be matched with #E). Let's try #4.

The band's name is a bit longer than just "Fins"

Not the Phaetons

The Mojo Fins? (Band #6)

Otto Puzzell

Nope - the name corresponds to a term used almost universally to define the automotive styling feature you're guessing at.

Alright: Band #4, The Tailfins, corresponds with picture #D, Cadillac tail fins.

They are even cuter with their black and yellow suits.

This one has stalled, so, open to all.

I'll give this one a blatant stab with a complete lack of research.  Band #6--Steel Wheels (A)

#11
It's a miss! (Also not Steeler's Weel)

Group #3 is Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, which would match with C, the selection of Chevy/GMC wheels and trims.

That's Mitch and company, but not matched to the wheels and trim.

Is the match with the wheels at A then, or am I missing something?

Otto Puzzell

Yes - A is a picture of Detroit wheels, manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes, a loooooong time ago.

Is Pic E supposed to be "The Cardinals?"

The band associated with this picture required a loose interpretation of that image. The rest of these are what I would call "say what you see".

Time to cap this one off, in the Black Hole.

Ah...Otto, is this one of your plays on words?  I've been thinking C was "The Hubcaps."  Is this right?

Otto Puzzell

You're on the right path, but not quite there.
