It's an Alvis special, probably a Speed 20, but I can't be sure

Can't see the number (unless you mean the Comp no. which means nothing to me).
It is a six-cylinder I'd say, so if not an early Speed 20, perhaps a Silver Eagle.
Jolly clever to get the Alvis badge on the rear wheelnut upright!

The Alvis badge is under the comp. number that may help you if you recognize the race (red arrow.....) and if you check the list of all the cars of a certain edition...I know it's not much but it is for expert....not a Silver Eagle and not a six....

It is correct...I took this picture (and many many....many others at the Mille Miglia of the past years...if you check in the site the number you could find car,driver....)...well done!
