Yes, that is one of three possibilities. These unusual fire engines were built on L45, L50 and LD50 chassis for the American forces. That explains the non-German looks of those engines. This particular one was built on a L50 chassis and received later on a Deutz Diesel engine instead of the thirsty petrol engine like the most of these.
