First of all the make, type and by whom, and then for whom and why was the extension built at the back of the car? Rookie stuff, surely? 1 point and 1 point for 'recent' different information.

Maybach W5 from 1928 for Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia, extension was for bodyguard or servant seats, body by Spohn

Some time ago, I would have agreed with you, but recently information has come to light which indicates a different coachbuilder....So that is the one point for you, but ...

Now I found it too: woodinsight is right. It is Alexis Kellner.  :)

Yes one point for Woodinsight.  This car has always been listed as Spohn by all books, probably becaue this is the most prolific coachbuilder on Maybach.... This car was not a success though,
and it was replaced fairly quickly by a similar design by Hooper on a Rolls Royce Phantom II.
