It's the first TVR as rebodied by Jomar

Trevor Wilkinson built the first rolling chassis (backbone tubular chassis, fully independent front and rear suspension, known with chassis number 7C101 (15th of June 1956). It was fitted with an 1100 cc Coventry Climax 4 cylinders engine and coupled to a MG TC gearbox. Then it was taken to USA to be bodied with a sport spider body and ready for tests in August. After some races in August and September without any result, the car was ready in April 1957. Together with 7C102 it attended Limerock Inaugural Event when it finished 4th overall. But one month later, 7C101 was destroyed at VIR by Ray Heppenstahl.

The first TVR was actually made in 1947...
The guy in the driving seat did seem awfully familiar; I met Trevor Wilkinson but still didn't recognise him (he was in his late 70's/early 80's when I met him...) - see the photo below!

To clarify, this is the forerunner of the first series-produced TVR.

The first car produced under the TVR name (derived from the creator's first name TreVoR) was a hand-built special designed and built by Trevor Wilkinson in 1947, heralding the creation of a company that would go on the become the 3rd largest sports car manufacturer in the world. During the first years, all TVRs were considered specials and only a very few were built, and amazingly the second TVR ever built is still in existence. The first true production run began in 1957 with the assistance of Ray Saidel, an American who became the first TVR dealer. He helped to design and test a car that was dubbed the Jomar, taken from the names of Saidel's two children (JOanna and MARc). The car proved to be very popular, and so many orders were received that production demands could not be met. TVR Engineering had to seek financial backing elsewhere.
