And for today's 2nd red car, who can identify this car and its builder?

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

Basecar Pontiac Firebird?

The actual base car isn't mentioned, but you could be right as understand it has a Firebird engine.

I based my answer on the shape of the doors (I think they are Firebird doors ...). Looks like some sort of selfmade tuning kit, by the looks of the wheelsarches and rear spoiler (and 'spoiler' really is the right word here :()) ...

Well-spotted.
Yes, it's a self-made.

How about Jerry Pennington's Ridler Award car from 1972 called "The Scorpion"?

Pegasus?

Yes!  You've go it!
Now would you like to elaborate on its full name and the name of the builder as per the original question?
Locked for your reply.

Facel

The only information I have is that it was based on a late model Trans Am chassis. The full name of the company was The Pegasus Motor Car.
It was built to each individual customer's specification.
The car could be seen weekly on the ABC series B.L. Stryker starring Burt Reynolds.

But all this is not the answer to your question so please unlock because this is all I know.

1989 Pegasus 2000 by Pegasus Motorcars in Pasadena, Texas.  Pegasus Motorcars is owned by Charlie Van Natter, who takes credit for building the car. (Model year of car may be 1988.  The B.L. Stryker show that featured it, started broadcast in 1989)

I found pictures of a blue Pegasus 2000, in worn out condition.  It certainly has Firebird doors, but it looks like the back seat may have been eliminated.  It is a very short car.

Sadly, it looks like Pegasus Motorcars also makes (made?) a body kit for Chevy trucks.  Picture the nose of the Pegasus 2000, on a pickup.

I found another web page that discusses the Pegasus in more detail.  It was definitely based on the Firebird Trans-Am.

Yes - a point well-earned for the full answer.
Sorry Facel, but you just didn't quite give enough info to earn the point.

Google for this:

"Come in Turd-Gen Folk and ID this car - Pegasus Motorcars"

For pictures of the blue car.  I have not found any more pictures of the red car.

For the page with detailed info about the Pegasus, Google for:

"What a blast Car builder's design debuts with a boom on `Stryker'"

Thanks
These are from the first of those sites (can't get the other one up):
