It's the prototype of the Hartnett, built in 1948. I don't think at this stage it had a model name, but it was intended to be called the Tasman.

Bodywork was left in the hands of Commonwealth Engineering, who proceeded to scupper the whole project by manufacturing them behind schedule and to a unuseable quality. The background to the whole thing needs a book.

Indeed so.  Somewhere is named Hartnett-Gregoire even if this prototype has no Gregorie part.  A point for you.

it was built after the Simca-Gregoire prototype that looks very similar. The AFG turned eventueally more or less in the Dyna Panhard X, a smaller, 4 door car. Any more pocs of this ill faten concept?

I was going to post more information, but the history is so complicated that it would involve other names/marques which can be used in future puzzles. The search facility reveals that these connections have not yet been used.
