Woman passenger:  "Oh my God, Frans, you're going far too fast, look out for those kids, mind THAT CAR! there's a corner coming up.........................we'll never make it! Ooooooh! Why did I ever climb into this thing?"

Driver:  "Shaddap, will you? I'm only going 40kph!"

WP:  "Yes, but that's still too fast. Are you sure the wheels are on tight? You're driving like a madman!"

Driver:  (Silence - Thinks) 'Never again. Next time she stays at home.'

After the rescue, this was still without a photo.
I´ve re-uploaded it now after #THEBIGRESCUE.
Hope it will not cause any trouble...

I want to get this solved, as it is an interesting car, really.  :)

So I´ll help massively:

The owner/builder and provider of the car´s name is from Mainz/Germany.

It features an Alfa Romeo engine.

And it´s (german, but durch looking) name may arouse the following images for english speaking people:

   - strongly related to Basketball
   - sounds like a salt flat racer
   - or a motor boat.

Carry on - you´re chances are good after this big hints...

;)

pnegyesi

was the photo taken at a race in 2013?

grobmotorix

No, I made all those photos at a 2014 classic car meeting at Frankfurt:

pnegyesi

you say, related to basketball - to a basketball player?

grobmotorix

A major American basketball team´s name sounds almost exactly like the name I want to hear...

The car was built by Egon Laaker from Mainz.
