SOLVED: WTH # 351 - 1972 Alfa Romeo 2600 concept by Ghia for Fabrica Nacional de Motores of Brazil

Specify the year, make, model, and coachbuilder of this shiny red car.

(I am looking for the coachbuilder as specified by the owner, and the obscured badge from the front fender [wing].  I cannot prove the involvement of this coachbuilder)

It is based on an Italian car.  Did the red give it away?

Not really. The front end looks quite Italian, even if the rest doesn't.

I've found it at last : it's a 1972 Alfa Romeo Giulia convertible supposedly ordered to Ghia by Alfa Romeo do Brasil

And the point goes to oko94 for the correct answer.

Searching online for an image of a Giulia convertible would have provided the answer quickly enough.  That is the only image I have found online.  I received the puzzle image and several others from the current owner of the car.

If the car shares a single panel with the vehicle it is based upon, I would suspect it is a 2600, before a Giulia (Especially since it has a 6-cylinder engine).

I wonder if Ghia was happy with the final result....not their best work into my opinion. But on the other hand, a unique car, never seen it before.

Perhaps the 6-cylinder engine is actually a 3000cc unit.  This would make sense, as I found a reference to it having 285HP.  Possible with 3000cc, incredible from 1300cc...

I own this car since new.
This is NOT a 1300 Giulia.
This is an Alfa Romeo 2600 concept car and only one was made for exhibit purposes in the São Paulo Automobile Show of 1972, but was never shown because the factory closed its doors and everything was dismantled or sold in auctions.
My father bought it in one of these auctions, that were not public, but opened only to selected people because this factory belonged to the national government.

This car was made in Italy in 1972  ordered to Ghia by Fabrica Nacional de Motores of Brazil, that made here the Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000 under license of Alfa Romeo of Italy.
The base platform that this car was made is from the Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000, although completely modified and using an added chassis.
The engine is a modified and enlarged 6 cilinder from the 2600 , as well the gearbox, disc brakes, etc.
