Given that this is Autopuzzles is it a Ferrari GTB lookalike on a japanese base?

Nothing to do with a 308/328 GTB, which I assume is what you mean.

Oswald:  I'm sorry but I've had to remove your message; as a Professional you can't answer Expert puzzles any more!
But - if you actually posted it before you became a Pro (and I didn't notice it for some reason) then you can re-post it and I'll give you the point.

I'll actually lock this pending Oswald's reply since I think that's what might have happened.

Locked for Oswald to post his reply again since he solved this one whilst still an Expert!

Thanks Carnut!
It's called the Ferrari '410 GTC Speciale' and was built in steel (except for the bonnet) by Australian David Levy in the 1980s as his Italian dream car. It used styling cues from several Ferrari models, but perhaps most of all (especially at the rear) from the Intermeccanica Italia. Levy passed away in 2012 and the car was offered in an auction recently. To my amazement it didn't sell, while the estimate seemed not so bad. It shows once more that people go for the known stuff...? What a fabulous car.
It's as much fun to scare as to be scared

Yes, it's a real beauty hand-built on a 1969 car.
If it didn't sell that must mean it's still available; now's your chance!
