All right then, this shouldn't be too difficult: can anyone tell us what this one is?

No - and I don't think there were ever any Jaguars this small.  You 're in the right country though.

sorry -  meant swallow sidecars - usually close-coupled body styles for austin morris riley wolseley and standard esp., hence ss; becoming jag. post war

Now I see where you were coming from with your Jaguar comment.  There is however no Swallow or SS connection here.  Your answer does not mention the name of this particular car, but it does mention a related vehicle.
