Who knows this car?

It is obviously a clay scale model, however what was it supposed to be?

I would be surprised if the body was not designed by Frua...

Car and design are neither Italian nor Spanish...

Anything to do with DKW/Auto Union?

At first I thought it was a model of the Darrin designed Flintridge DKW because it had a similar shaped horizontal dividing line - but the wrong windscreen shape. Then I thought the Welsch bodied DKW roadster, but that lacked the body line completely - so I have a photo of a very similar looking DKW coupe - with that characteristic line.  I believe it was made by the organization called MHK.

My information is that it was an in-house project...

I would need a model name and/or the designer´s name for a point.

OK - please unlock. I cannot find reference to an in house car that looks like the model. Attached is the photo that made me think that the model might be a roadster version of this MHK built coupe.

Below is a resized version of the car you were thinking of and posted a picture of - and a link to where it was puzzled here earlier:

I believe the 'MHK' you mention actually stands for Meisterschule fuer Handwerker Kaiserslautern, whose students built many special-bodied VWs and DKWs amongst others in the 1950s/60s.

Was the car actually built and run - as opposed to a full size clay, ..... and is it on the net somewhere?

grobmotorix

It was a DKW/Auto Union in-house design - no connection to MHK...
