Not that I'm afraid. The race is correct, but nothing else.

Well it cant be an A.C. as the car in question has dumb irons.

I think just about every British manufacturer entered those races. Keep trying!

But rather few with a bullnose radiator it would seem.

If it's any help.we've had a different version of this car before. Having said that, we've had thousands of previous puzzles!

The shape of the radiator isn't the one usually associated with this marque.

There is a rather curious 'pod' cover below the tailpipe which may well suggest 1/4 elliptic rear springs which could narrow it down a tad.

It could be a step for the riding mechanic to ease access to his seat  ;D.

Could it possibly be George Bedford in a Hillman.

Yes it could definitely be. It's the 1922 200-mile race.

We've had Raymond Mays' car on here before, in its road-going form. I thought this one deserved its own puzzle. I don't think (but may be wrong) that Hillman production cars of the period had that pointed radiator shell, which was the obstacle to overcome, identity-wise.

I feel very a ashamed that I had not twigged earlier as my old 1922 G.N. Akela was in the very same race.
