This looks like the abortive mid-engined Westfield Topaz, which was launched, quietly withdrawn and then relaunched under a different name to no fanfare what-so-ever.
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Indeed! A design from around 1988 I think that was relaunched in 1996 as the XEi (possibly to steal the thunder from the Lotus Elise and Caterham 21, which it resoundingly did not do!)
