What's this then and who built it?
Tell me for 1 point!

This is the stunning Serra-bodied Citroen Dyane, coachbuilt to order in Barcelona to resemble a Maserati Mistral!

Yes it is!
I didn't know about the Maserati Mistral connection but now you mention it I can see the cues; I would say it's only partially successful in its aim however.  It's a nice-looking car in its own right but it looks more like a Viking Minisport to me than a Maserati Mistral!

Never knew about this Citroën... It looks great  ;D But maintenance must be terribly difficult - to adjust the ignition you have to take off the fan at the front of the engine, which is placed in front of the wheels... Looks like that is only possible when you'd take the engine out of the car.

Wendax

Looks familiar, doesn't it?

For one point, please respond and identify this car.

Wendax

Thanks for front page coverage!

This is a Citroën Dyane conversion by the Spanish coachbuilderd Serra. I think made at the end of the sixties somewhere ... (1969?)

Wendax

Yes, that's the car. Doesn't look much like a Dyane.  :D

One more point for you.

My turn to point out a re-post!
Topics merged.

And here's a rare rear view of this car, although for some reason the 'site calls it a Serra bodied Citroen Ami 6..:

And that's the reason why I didn't find it on a search: I looked for "Ami" and "Serra". The search engine isn't able to find "Serra-bodied" then.

That's right; I fall foul of this one regularly.
If you write 'Serra bodied' it will only pick it up if it was written exactly like that, but it won't show if it said 'Serra-bodied'; the hyphen is crucial!

I'm sure the performance didn't match the looks...

Anyone have period photos of this? It seems impossible to find decent images of all Serra's designs  >:(

I saw the car in the flesh at AutoRetro in Barcelona (where the photos were taken) a few years back.  It was beautifully-built and a very nice thing to behold.  Sadly I've never seen any period photos of it, and even the Spanish Serra book only has one modern image.

Yes, that exhaust pipe doesn't exactly shout Huge Power does it!
More like a pea-shooter..

Dyna M, 1969, based on a Citroën Dyana 6 chassis, built by Pedro Serra, inspired by Maserati Mistral

Wendax

One more point for you.

Sorry to intervene, but I have this car only as a "Citroen Dyane 6 Coupé by Pedro Serra, 1969" in my database. Is "Dyna M" for sure the right type designation?

Ok, sorry. Found the auction ad. All clear

Wendax

That was the name stated by Aguttes when they auctioned it last month. They also mention the Dyane 6 as base car and do that with the correct spelling. I've never seen that name before, but cannot rule out that it was given by Pedro Serra.

This car has been puzzled a couple of times before (including by Wendax!) so I've merged it.

I don't know if the title should be changed because I'm not sure Dyna M is its correct name. Auctioneers make a habit of including multiple errors in their descriptions, although you would think its owner would know what it is..

Below is the page on this car from the book "Pedro Serra Carrocero" by Pablo Gimeno Valledor. My Spanish is non-existant but I don't see any mention of "Dyna M" anywhere; perhaps someone is confusing Citroen with Panhard...
