Mercury Breezway/Turnpike Cruiser/Monterey desing proposition?

Right kind of area. I confess all I have is a brand and year for this...

Mercury's similar styling went in to the production in 1957, so this must be before that, let's say '54/55
But, this could also bi the Edsel or Lincoln design proposition from, roughly, same period...?

It is a styling car for Ford, year 1959.

White12 is right.
It doesn't seem to have had an actual name but this is the most radical of the proposals for the 1959 big Ford, produced in early 1957.  It pinched the reverse rear-window idea from the Lincoln branch's Continental Mk III and it was intended that it should lower electrically as an option,

I found the car in flickr and here it´s its rear. I have found other styling car for the same year in howstuffworks.

Those 2 shots of the rear are not of the same car though!

The one with the asymmetric rear is the same car as the frontal shot but the other one is of a different car completely, though obviously a very similar design.

Have no idea how many different proposals were made, but probably hundreds!

Yup. This is either the zenith or the nadir of finmanship, depending on your viewpoint

Yes, 1958/9 was just about the peak of the fruit-machine era!
To me the 1962 UK Ford Classic looks just like a shrunken and slightly less outrageous version of this car!
