George H. Ellis from Minneapolis built his first car in 1892 and it was so noisy that when he attempted to drive it from Minneapolis to participate the Chicago Times Herald Contest in 1895, the police of Evanston (Illinois) ordered him to leave town for disturbing the peace.

(I know another source calls this very pic as a Deering Harvester Company product, but I couldn't find any proof about it)
