Not sure if AF is correct...

AF: 1907-08 Star (Star Automobile Co. of Chicago) - 22: Durant-Dort factory in Flint, Michigan - b: 1930 Durant racer

Connection: Durant Motor Co. produced automobiles under the 'Star' brand in the 1920s.

AF isn't a Cartercar either.

C. Le Roitelet cyclecar - 19: Goldcrest Views 2 in Dubai, UAE - j: Ford Escort Mk2 Goldcrest

Connection: Roitelet is the French word for kinglet, a family of birds which includes the goldcrest.

[Note: The French word roitelet (literal equivalent of kinglet in English) can also refer to birds in the wren family. It seems people once believed kinglets and wrens were the same, and so several languages have words for wren and kinglet which are either very similar or are used interchangeably. In English, the goldcrest (a species of kinglet) used to be referred to as the gold-crested wren.]

Well found! I am not that good in ornithology, but I was referring to the Regulus regulus, which omniscient Wikipedia calls goldcrest in English and roitelet huppé in French. BTW, in German it has the beautiful name of Wintergoldhähnchen .

Well found!
As so often happens, I managed to stumble across an image of one puzzle car (in this case, the Roitelet cyclecar) while trying to solve an entirely different puzzle!

I haven't been able to positively identify the bus shown in rust O, but here's a thought:

O: autobus by Van Twist – 9: Roman Praetorian Guard Commander's House – f: Torsus Praetorian by Pulsar Expo

(Latin torsus = twist/twisted)

Wendax

Rust O is not by Van Twist. A hint: you need a little bit more precision on the Torsus Praetorian.

The Torsus is built on a MAN chassis. Is it the same triplet (O-9-f), but with the connection being that O is also a MAN chassis?

Perfect! The Magirus emblem "M" shows the stylized Ulmer Münster.

K: AFM-BMW - 10: Schloss Falkenhausen - ai: Gerhard Schröder at the opening of VW plant in Dresden, 2001

Connections
K-10: AFM = Alex von Falkenhausen Motorenbau

K-ai: Schröder attended the opening of the Dresden VW plant in 2001 and the BMW Leipzig plant in 2002. (As well, a number of connections could probably be made between Schröder and the von Falkenhausens, but I know nothing about German politics.)

All correctly identified, but only K-10 is a connection which is now locked for you.
