For Customs & Hot-Rod lovers, here's what I found in an old magazine.
No details, no name, nothing at all.
2 points for a correct and motivated ID.

Otto Puzzell

Is that the Red Barron? (no pun intended)

Otto Puzzell

I've got a color picture of this car here somewhere. I'll dig it up.

Paul Jaray

Wow, it already got a name!

Otto Puzzell

Can't find the pic.

I'd be pretty surprised if Ray or Metalshapes doesn't have this one filed somewhere.

Ray B.

I don't. I keep very few files.

I don't know this car, but if Otto is right....

I'm fairly certain that Otto is correct.  Here is a link posted on Forgotten Fiberglass that shows the same car or at least body and setup with the Red Baron paint scheme.

So THAT's where I saw it!  :D

Well, following that link, and working backwards to the airplane's builder, I'll concede this car was probably given that name as a promotional tie-in with the plane, and was built some years before the 1975 Reno Air Races.

What it was called when new, I have no idea.  ???

Is there any additional info about this 'Red Baron''?

Otto Puzzell

I sent an e-mail to the owner of the aviation page, he was kind enough to respond, saying he didn't know anything about the car.  :(

I would like to declare this solved...is there any info about this "Red Baron"?

I can't solve my own puzzles, so I'll give you a clue I just found:
this car was shown at the 1966 Oakland Roadster Show.
The name of the builder is  Ray  Ke?*@#§    as  you can read from my pic...

Otto Puzzell

I think it says "Ray Keane's" or "Ray Kenna's"

The one just below was a former puzzle (or part of a group puzzle) that I can't find.

C'mon, this one is almost there!

Allemano

Is "Star" part of the name?

Paul Jaray

I don't think you read the previous lines... ;D
I'll sum up:
This car is called Red Baron and was shown at the 1966 Oakland Roadster Show.
I would like to move it to the solved section, but I would like also a name for the builder or any additional info.
On the small pic I posted there is a barely readable name...I was hoping someone got that magazine, or another one covering that event.

I misunderstood. I thought it got this name later as it was painted in red... why should a pale car like this get such an odd name?

Allemano

Are you sure about the name, resp. do you have a larger copy of the last pic?
Somehow it looks different than "Red Baron"

Nope and nope. :-\

Ray B.

I'd say Ray Kendle.

The car's name i can't figure.

I read something like "Star M..ta" maybe Star Meta, it could be also something like "Wax ...." though.  :-\
and Ray Kendle/Kandle, yes!
