Well solved. The sellers claim that the bodywork is from a Cooper T51 - it looks like a T39 Bobtail to me.  The car was built in 1960 by John Moore and was entered in 750MC events and in Formula Junior with a BMC engine. I thought FJ had to be open-wheeled cars.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Whoops  :D Thank you for your honesty, but the point was fairly won.

The seller's information claimed that the bodywork was from Brabham's T51, but I think maybe some panels could be from his 1955 T40 as raced at the British GP. It is an unusual story.
