I have a fear that this one may be a re-post, but I've searched it and it doesn't show up.  So, for a point, what is it?

Works Design Curtana from 1990

Carnut

Looks rather like one of Franco Sbarro's creations?

Not a Sbarro, and not a Curtana either, although I can see where Geology is coming from on this one.

I have it recorded in a book as the 1990 Curtana Prototype, could that be the answer you were looking for?, I have PM'd you a link to the article online.

Djetset

I'm tempted to award you a point as this car is related to the Curtana, but it is not a Curtana.  I'll lock it for you again for a further 48 hours.

BTW, impressed that you have accumulated over 100 points when you have only made 80 posts.  That's what I call a strong point-to-post ratio!  ;D

Thanks for the lock, but I think best to keep it open, I've drawn a blank on this one up to now.  The photo you posted is exactly the same one I have except yours is in colour (I agree with Arunas on that!).

Sure beats mine..!
By the way Djetset I note your 4000th post came and went without comment so I'm commenting on it now!

Thank you for acknowledging this milestone Carnut.  I now feel like I'm now part of the AutoPuzzles furniture!

Curtana-like, but this is under another name which one of the Pros will know.  So...?
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

pnegyesi

Are you looking for the name Avalon?

Djetset

A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Arunas

I also thought this could be Avalon S30 (250LE) if itn't not Curtana, but...

Djetset

I see why you are thinking that, but...

Djetset

Still looking for that elusive name. Any ideas, or off to the Black Hole it goes...

This exact photo does appear in a contemporary item about the Avalon...

Djetset

Oh my, Avalon is not the name I am looking for.  Sorry!

From Steve Hole's new book:
"Originally known as the Curtana, the S350 (later 250LE) was underpinned by a spaceframe chassis and a combination of Ford Escort Mk3 and Cortina parts with power coming from a CVH engine and came from a Sheffield-based company. Design by Richard Ashby of The Works Design Studio, who later designed the Savant/Quantum Xtreme.
Never seen again after its initial -and only- show debut.
Avalon Automotive 1990"

Nothing new here... :-\

I hope we are close to a solution...

Djetset

All the names that have been mentioned so far can be applied to this car.  However, it also briefly had another name, and one that is not mentioned I believe in that book!  :-\

You must have some very good source!  ;D

This one (highlighted by Wendax in its thread back to this thread) is actually the same picture even...:
