Over the years I have found many photos of this mystery car.

They all were shot by the well known German photographer Perckhammer and have been published in diverse magazines between 1929 and 1939.

Does anybody have an idea?

I really would would love to know what it is...

I'm sure you know what's written on the radiator cap...
Just in case someone else is going to spend too much time on it (like I did...  ;D )

Thank you for that hint.

Yes, I forgot to tell about the ADAC badge - this is just an emblem of the biggest German car club ...

I found two new photos of it - do the experts know something?

I was told in another forum, that this must be a
Fiat 6-28PS (German tax related HP) type 509
with a German special sportscar body.

Still I do not know anything about this bodywork...

I just read this other forum post, and - oh dear - I have two pictures of the other car mentioned there with the same bodywork. It belonged to the shoe manufacturer Mella from Erfurt:

Wow!

:applause:

Now who could help identify the coachbuilding company...

Wendax

On PreWarCar it was identified as a Fiat 501 S with Bertone body.

The problem is: I think I have found another hint that also points to italy, but that would not even be a Fiat...

This picture was also posted at Prewarcars, FIAT is clearly visible on the spare wheel knock-off, it's upside down. The second picture is enlarged and flipped

OK, I think I should reveal my other idea now.

Gräfin Einsiedel, a famous German female race driver drove a Chiribiri at the Eibsee ice race in 1929.
Its cooler mask looks so very similar, even more similar than othe photos of other cars shown here.

Now what do you all think: could this Chiribiri also feature a Bertone body?

A very similar car called Fiat 501 SS was auctioned at Coys during the Dyck Classic Days some days ago:

This 501 Bertone SS was sold at 2019 Maastricht Interclassics & Topmobiel:
