Lovin' Spoonful and 2 Face Of Appalachia

Otto Puzzell

We're going to burn through the entire Spoonful catalog, aren't we?

I'd go to the other end of the alphabetical listing, and work forward.

I'd rather not but...   following instructions (I guess) keep going L.S. and 7 Younger Generation

Otto Puzzell

It was only a suggestion. But you leveraged the clue very well! You have correctly matched the Spoonful with Younger Generation

Like, hey, pop, can I go ride my zoom? It goes two hundred miles an hour, suspended on balloons

OK - that one was a stretch. But now that the easier ones are out of the way, Won't you have a go, Mister or Miss Rookie, Expert or Pro?

And "the last" will last and last and last...

 8) One artist is a famous ax man.

8) One artist is named for an outlaw.

8) One artist was once wed to a person who later became an outlaw.

8) At least two artists share their names with automobiles, and one of those automobiles is the subject of one of the songs.

As I've been generous with these clues, random guesses with no substance to back them up will not be entertained.

If I understood correctly Lovin' Spoonful match with Younger Generation (7), Isn't that right? I ask because is not on the list.

Is L John Lee Hooker?  (I have my doubts)

Trust your doubts - it's not him.

Artist D is one of many to record a version of this song. Which song? You don't have to go far, to find the answer.

Guitar-playing artist J was a session musician, but also charted a number of recording where he sang and, sometimes, played some memorable guitar licks. Others were often fluffy covers of songs that had already charted for others.

At least one of them featured a very familiar opening guitar riff. However, that song's very existence might seem a puzzling non sequitur to our friends in the UK ..... where's the harpsichord?

Alas, that song is not featured here. But this lavish and generous clue might get you somewhere.

Wow, this puzzle is a dud! The previous installment should have been the last.

OK - another clue. Please check my math.  ;)

16,327 + 159 = 13

It's not a dud,  just tough.  :)

Anyway, I just blundered across one while I was looking for something else (and I've at last picked up on a clue from earlier).

Artists B are the Corvairs, also known as the West Siders. I'm not too sure about the song, but I'll try 11, "Girl with the wind in her hair" (1963).

Progress! And you didn't even need my latest clues. ;D

I trust the performers of song #2 won't require 2 x 7 clues to identify.
